Default Why don't they fit 18" x 8.5" wheels for Group N instead?

Does anybody know the reason the newage Group N cars run 18" x 8" wheels instead of say... 18" x 8.5"?

It's strange because as we know, the newage shell GDB accepts up to 8.5" wheel width (as seen on RA-R, S204) with the correct offset without any modification to the archs. Why did they (Group N teams) fit an 8" width wheel? Is there some rule or regulation that limits Group N tarmac cars to 8" width wheels?

Even weirder is them fitting the GRB shell with 18" x 8" as well, when every model (except the base type uk and base JDM model) comes fitted with 18" x 8.5" wheels standard.

Fellas?

Moderators, anyway to change the title to "Why don't they fit 18" x 8.5" wheels to Group N cars instead?"

Maybe the title doesn't attract enough attention.

Anyone from Prodrive?

It doesn't answer my question of why won't they use 8.5" wheels instead. But appreciate your reply mate.

15 = gravel
16 = snow
18 = tarmac
