I have a V2 wrx sti how can i tell if its a 555 edition or not???

Hi Dave,

The model code should be GC8C4ED and I think the 555 cars were all blue. All the four door V2 STIs had the same model number incidently.

i think the only way to tell when the badges are missing is that the 555 has signitures on front seats v limited does not.

Other way round on V2's V-Ltds have the manufacturers badge and 555 plain STi

What you really want is option code BKC IIRC.

 

Or just BK .

Looks like a 555 to me, correct colour and roof vent. The only other car with a vent would be the RA and they only came in white

How clear do you want it? Based on it's age and unless someone has gone to the trouble of painting a standard V2 STI, 555 blue, it looks like a 555.

You posted the photos up as I was writng my original response so I didn't see the colour.

 

No it won't have a DCCD either.

 

sti v limited had a roof vent too.

 

Thanks JeffSTI2 no offence was intended, it doesnt have the 555 seats i will get the wife to check the vin number and i will post it up. DJ i paid 2K for it, i bought it off my friend who has had it for 8 years. it was the first subaru i had ever been in, it started my fetish, a MY00 turbo, WR1 then a RB320 and when he said he was selling it i couldnt say no!!! he claims its just a normal STI but am not sure!!!

 

We won't know if it has 555 seats until we know the option code

Correct The WRX Type RA Version II STi V-Limited did have a roof vent but it also had badges on the boot, a numbered plaque, signed seats (driver and co-driver), air con, green glass (i think) but no mudflaps from the factory LOL

555 for me buddy,

GC8C4ED = wrx sti2 4 door and wrx sti2 555 4 door

GC8C4DD = wrx ra sti and wrx ra sti2 v-limited

It is just an sti that was painted 53c blue, got mudflaps and a roof scoop! There were sticker sets available for them as well.

sounds good to me G7prs did your have the seats or where they an option, just had a look at ur car and it looks the biz!!! what sort of power are you running??

 

When i bought my car the original seats had already been removed. I then bought the prodrive seats that are in it just now. Its should be over the 300 mark but it hasnt been on the rollers with its current set up.

good good does your option number/vin etc match mine?? am located in aberdeen, and getting the car remaped again by AF on the 10 jan, i will let you know what mine makes on the roller once its sorted!!!

 

The applied model code is the same but i havent look at the other codes before. I will check it later on. I am in Kincardine and its Andy thats mapped mine in the past. You will enjoy the trip home better than the drive down!

 

thanks for looking at the codes for me i cant wait for the drive home just need to get my FMIC and injectors fitted oh and get to the bottom of the high knock reading on my FC commander, theres a point what knock value do you get on the FC commander???
