BC coilovers
As am I - looks/sounds/feels like all four struts on my bug STi are shot, and if another groupbuy comes up then BC/Apex coilovers seems like the cheapest solution?
Is that the case?
Is that the case?
Had a set of apex which are exactly the same as the BCs and they are superb for the money and look great
They initially had a problem with rear top mounts being noisey on the newage but they now come with rubber oe style which has solved the problem.

ive got a set of these on 2 cars, one bugeye sti , one blobeye!bugeye has the previous style which apparently still have a rear knocking problem? bought them second hand and done 12k miles in them, god knows how many they have done before me and theyve been superb! no problems whatsoeevr.
the blobeye has the later style bc coilovers which apparently have the knocking rear sorted. and this revised version has been fine for the 3k miles it has done. these were also bougyht second hand.. cant fault them bud.

18 months ago wouldnt be the revised version though plus replacements are still cheaper than oem sti struts.

The £509 deal is for the std coilover kits, not inverts.
Contact them directly quoting the SN special offer.

For road use inverts are overkill in my opinion shane but others may disagree.

BTW, inverts are standard on newage STis, which probably explains the knocking issue found on rear struts.
They lower the unsprung wheel mass, but since the Apex std sets are some 3 Kg lighter each then the need for STis to retain inverts for road use becomes irrelevant.

I have now replaced all the coilovers with uprated STi struts with Prodrive lowering springs and the ride quality and handling is far better, I also had the geometry redone with Prodrive settings.

Replacment coilover struts are cheap enough at around £80 each, but TBH as the coilovers I believe had only been on the car for around 2 years I decided to change them all back to 'standard' suspension.
I was making it clear what the offer was for

Well aware the standard struts are inverted but they are also cack, heavy and expensive to replace. Surely it makes sense to replace with aftermarket items. If the question on this thread would have been who has had problems with oem sti struts we would have 100s of replies by now as opposed to a few who have problems with BCs to replace them with more oem struts in my eyes is

Again sorry if you misunderstood what was written I intended no harm. Trouble with forums is that things can be easily misconstrued
