Default fitting 6 speed does apexi need re mapped

going to be fitting a 6 speed gearbox from a uk 02 plate sti into my classic terzo which is running apexi fc ecu and apexi avec-r boost controller, my question is does my car need a remap so that the apexi can identify the 6th gear??????, never even thought about this till someone mentioned it and don't have a scooby on the answer

apppreciate any help or thoughts on this

but the avcr has the "gear learning" thing. The APEXi ECU may not need a remap but the avcr needs a little bit of tweaking as far as I know.

Last week I fitted an avcr on my GT MY00 with an STI 6MT and I had to set the gears right because I want different boost levels across the various gears.

Am I wrong?

The AVCR only reads 5 gears anyway

The avc-r on a 6 speed will control both when you adjust the start duty for 5th gear

When I had my 6 speed fitted in 6th the engine management light flashed now and then, I had to get my map tweaked and I believe the gear ratios were also set right on my avcr.

It needs tweaking if gearing is longer

98uk to 6spd uk is simiar

The in gear can be set in a number of ways but currently it will roughly think 5 is 6th and 4 is 5th etc and use the same duty for 1st and 2nd
