Opinions on this Scooby please.......
Sadly seems to be the way prices are going. I got mine for 9k for 97P with 47k miles on it. What had scared people off was the fact the service was missing from before 40k but had been a lease before then. Took a very good mechanic with me - checked car over for 3 hours on ramp etc. Absolutely sound. Phoned previous owner who confirmed what we knew about the car and the rest of its history. Even told me where it had been serviced which I checked and found to be true. Seems like someone had nicked the service book as it had been in the car when traded in.

Dream Weaver,
If memmory serves me right, in October 1997 the colour options were Red, White, (both non metallic), Reddish Blue, Green and Silver (metallics).
The one your looking at should have the bucket seats, 15" wheels (it appears), and the NON white dial dash, ie no MOMO steering wheel, no passenger airbag, and have 208bhp as opposed to the later 1997, after October , which were then 98 spec cars that were listed with 211bhp, and had 16" 5 spoke MY98/99 wheels.
Cheers MTR

Buy something a little older with a few less miles, spend £89 on a private plate and upgrade the grill. Most people will think you have a newish car that way!
Scoobys do take the miles fine, but £9k is dear for a 100k 3.5 year old car. It will be hard to sell though in couple of years with 140k. Whereas buying a 95/96 with 40k miles will still be easy to sell on 80k, depend how long you keep it really.
