Anyone know if 7500 miles is correct service interval for 01WRX import? I thought new Imprezas had been extended to 10000?

This is a Subaru UK directive only. EU imports have to be serviced to the home countries spec i.e. 7500 miles

They dont HAVE to.

You wont get a new service book with the 10,000 mile intervals in.

Not sure what I am going to do yet.

If you do go to 10 000 miles on a Euro I would have thought this was giving IM or Vilvoden an excuse for not paying out for warranty work. There are lots of threads about problems with warranties.

Not worth the risk IMHO and besides I want my oil changed every 7 5000 miles and I can't be ar5ed to do it myself.

IM won't cover the warranty on an import, the dealer has to ring up who ever provided the warranty in the country the car was bought from to get work cleared. So I think you would have to stick to the servicing schedule set out by the country of origin.

Absolutely right - Euro imports are stuck with the 7,500 mile intervals, as the 10,000 directive is unilaterally from IM, and applies only to cars officially imported by them, and hence warranted by them.

Subaru Benelux would have a marvellous excuse not to adhere to the warranty if you decided to adopt the UK intervals, in contravention of the agreed Benelux intervals.

Hi Scooby-Babe. Got quoted £49 for maintenance and about £40 for parts for the MY02 1,000 miler..... All plus VAT. Local Scooby dealer. Probably wise to ring a few, as another I contacted was looking at over £100 plus VAT.

Cheers, HB.

PS. I try to keep it factual ;0)

I have been told that 5w40 is to thin!
Must use at least 10w40!
Or is that some one just thinking that I am daft?
