Like all of these debates, it depends on how you drive it. I have an STi IV, and have been into single figures at times, and into the high twenties at others.
Some people on this board do manage to get around 15 mpg, but I would find it very dificult to achieve that on a regular basis due to the amount of traffic around.

Bryn,

I had an STI5, and it would get as low as 4-5mpg and as high as 32 on a long motorway run at about 85mph!! Just depends how much right foot you give it.

Hi,

Still running in the P1 (just a STi V, I'm told). Achieved 27 mpg the other day on a 160 mile motorway trip.

Just in case you're interested.

To put it in an easily understandable formula

50 litre tank

normal driving 200 miles from a tank full.( 18 mpg )

having fun 160 miles from a tank full.(14.52)

on track 117 miles ( 10.62 )

Regards

Tim

28 miles to work each way on the motorway and i`m getting 28mpg at about 80 ish mph.

Down the lanes is a different story altogether.

Its a 60 lite tank

I've never had as low as 12-15mpg - I think the lowest was 16mpg - In constant thrash mode over a 100 mile stint

You should be looking to get 20-22mpg (including a fair bit of in town driving)- change to a Link ecu and that will increase to about 24-26mpg (with more power)

Most I had was 34mpg!

STI III

Best 34MPG (Fuel Strike)
Worst 6MPG (Track)
Average 23MPG (Normal driving but usually reaching the speed limit as quick as possible )

Cheers
