Question Goodyear Assymetrics vs Michelin SP3s vs Falken Ziex 912 .. opinions pls

Following on from my previous thread moaning about the ride quality of my car I'm prob going to be changing my current tyres ( the Falkens ) I find the Falkens noisy, hard and understeery in the wet. My tyre size is 215/45/17 . Always been a fan of Goodyear F1 GSD3s but not heard about the new Assymetrics.. And someone said the Michelin PS2s were good and quiet..now its PS3s.
Anyone's opinion on these would be appreciated.
Cheers,
Steve

You mean the PS (Pilot Sport) 3's?
They would get my vote over either of the other 2, was not impressed with all the hype people gave the goodyears after fitting them on a different model of car, the Vredsteins were better that were on there previously, but have always rated Michelins highly and the PS3's seem to storm tyre tests at the moment

I have the Goodyears on my car (MY04 JDM STI) and find them to be spot on.

Too much flex on them hence they had "issues" (even on the xl ones).
PS3's are far better by the looks, but ill stick with my trusty RE070's proper tyres (I just need some bridgestone blizzak things for winter )

Slight thread hijack, but was thinking of getting Falken 452s as a budget option. Anybody tried them?

I've had Goodyear's on all my Impreza's(on my 3rd now)and i rate them highly. My current Impreza had Pilot Sport on it when a bought it and imo have the same performance has the Goodyear's but when it came to replacing them, they were more expensive than the Goodyear's and there wasn't enough performance different to warrant the extra money.

It's horses for courses, the best tyre will be the one that suits the requirements for each individual. I still believe the Goodyear Assymetrics for 'road use' are the best based on my own experiences. They are also good value when compared to some of the others.

for the Assymetrics
We love them so much on our WRX we are probably going to fit them to our 22B next. Great all round tyre IMO.

Of those I know that have them, they all rate them slightly better in all aspects than F1's. I just wish they did my size

Throwing another brand into the mix....... Toyo T1R, went from goodyear Assymetrics to Toyos, the Toyos perform so much better.
Won't be using anything else now.

Tyres have 3 factors, weight of car, tyre size and your usage

A 215x40x17 Tyre that Performs well on fast road, dry & wet on a Classic doesnt mean that it still works well on a Newage 225x40x18 in the same conditions.

all I can say about 225x40x18 T1R's they are Black, Round and don't tramline. they turned my well handling T20 into a Tyre squealing understering wreck. A "Performance Tyre" with "budget tyre" handling qualities IMHO

For a performance tyre on a newage STi GY F1's or Pilot sport 2's
