I know someone who fitted one and got worse results than with his STI unit...
We suspect that it was cooked by the turbo, as it had "det" on the road, the STI unit didn't.
Sold.

Hyperflow was the best topmount. ...But FMIC reduced temps hugely, even compared to a pukka top mount.
Where intercooler cores are concerned, big is not always an advantage or desirable. The size is often a compromise and on some cars packaging constraints are a big factor.
A well designed core is essential to reduce pressure drop and achieve good thermal efficiency.
For instance if you have a pressure drop of .3 bar across the core from an inefficient bar and plate core then to make 1.5 bar manifold pressure your turbo is running 1.8 bar and making a lot more heat.
4 deg C charge temp is approx. 1% power.
Unfortunately some intercooler manufacturers either don't know what is required or do not care or both and that includes some recognised names.
