Hi there guys new to this site and just picked up my first scooby.

After going through the checklist on here managed to get a 96 wagon.

Code on the stamp in engine is GF8C58D so I gather this is around the 260
mark. Anyway love it very much. Would this be a STI or just WRX was advertised as WRX...Has a very close and short gearshift on it.

There is one question though there is a small round switch to the right of the steering column which when pressed shows a red light it is on the lower dash any ideas for me or is it the self destruct button, better not try it yet..

Sounds like its an import thats had a foglight fitted properly then. i intend to do this to mine soon.

Yes mate imported 2006 first registered may 96, needed a wagon though
for family. But I do like it. Needs a bit of paint on front bumper has had facelift lights and what not put on it. But paint on bumper needs sorting flaked off in a couple of places. And no it has no structual damage..

And for the code and year it reckons wrx sti2 5 door 260bhp between sept 95 and aug 96 so is this correct...my car is may 96
