Bearing in mind a number of dealers seem to have MY01 WRXs in stock (particularly red mica), has anyone sniffed for discounts?

I would be trading in my MY98 (immac, 4dr, 39k, A/C, 1owner, FSH etc.) and the two garages I have been to seem to be quite interested as they have no similar stock. How much have values gone to the wall? i.e. how much am I going to cry when they tell me a trade in value?

Forgive me for asking what might be almost an FAQ, but how far away is a PPP likely to be to increase the power to what it really should have been all along?

In fact, full UK spec means the non-sport seats. At the mo, EU imports DO have sports seats which are much better than the ones you get in the UK models. Someone on this BBS said that IM screwed up the 1st 400 orders and ordered the wrong seats....

Matt.

Ok, I'd love the contact for importing a 01 WRX too. I have seen some offical dealers advertising UK models (new and unregistered) at circa £19k (back of Autocar). Shame really as it will kill the residuals of the new shape models. Most new cars have a honey moon period, where the values stay highish. It looks like the high pricing from IM (compared to EU&Jap) and the looks have made it a poor buy new (certainly in the UK).

Also I think IM are advertising the new model more than any car they have ever sold (a sign of poorer than expected) sales.
Now if only they'd put a better looking nose on it! How long before a face lift model, I hear they are doing a special edition already (with different lights!).

Shame, It drives nicely. I think a jap spec WRX would be fine (with 250 ps).
