Came across SVA imports site, looks like they have some nice clean examples.

But mainly V5 STi, so it got me thinking, what is the main differences between a V5 and a V6, which would be the better car.

 

Not to sure on the mechanical side but the v6 got a rent lip spoiler a slightly higher rear spoiler as the end sort of flicks up and the pattern of the red on the seat is meant to be different. Sure the likes of tony and a few there will be along to tell you rest

 

anyone else is it just cosmetic or any mechanical changes

 

Just cosmetic changes as far as i know......lip on rear spoiler and the version 6 front lip....although the version 6 car i nearly purchaaed a few years back needed the clutch pedal pressed to be able to fire her up.

 

think the version 6s only major mechanical change was an uprated clutch. There was other colours available and Bullet shaped wing mirrors were an option for aero dynamics etc

Yep, from the version 6 STI's onwards you needed to engage the clutch to start the car up, probably the biggest change of the lot
