Right, had a read and here we go:-
Front cover:- Understated, but instead of being underwhelmed I wanted to delve in.
Print quality:- The front cover had imperfections due to the material used, but all in all a good production.
Advertising:- about 19 pages of a grand total of 97 pages. As this mag is free, I don't think the amount of advertising space is overkill, and is probably a better ratio than Total Impreza.
Articles:- Well written, Evo-esque write-ups, covering the cars, trackdays, info on heat management (interesting), and for the more daring amongst us, a two page spread of the track days going on in the UK primarily, as well as Europe in the next two months. A very useful diary of events.
Letters page:- As expected, the letters were made up of good luck wishes and enquiries about the mag. I hope this page can evolve like Letters pages in other motoring mags, ie. Evo.
Take one article, 'Classic Ford Group Test', an article I was drawn to as I am a fan of the old Escorts. One thing which will turn me off a magazine, or at least the article, is a lack of proper proof reading, and obvious electronic spell checking. I was pleased to find that the write-up flowed well, kept me enthused as it went through the various Fords on show, and most importantly for me, was bereft of spelling mistakes and grammatical errors. The magazine seems to have a team that understands the importance of 'get it right first time'.
In conclusion, this is not a magazine for the trackday driver only, as I have never driven on a track and rarely attend race meets. It introduced me to a world I have not really experienced, and kept me interested throughout.
Good effort guys, and how you can continue to push this out for free is beyond me.
(I have no affiliation to this magazine by the way, I just happened upon the thread offering it for free. I promptly forgot about it until it dropped through my letterbox!)
