if you have a standard car with a boost guage, what boost is it running? i need to get mine running the correct level.

That's pretty much it. On the STi5/6 ECUs, the boost target at normal atmospheric pressure is 0.97 bar up to 2800rpm, 1.08 bar up to 5400, and 1.01 from there to the redline.
The STi4 is probably not exactly the same, but won't be significantly different.

I didnt realise that 1.1 bar was standard on sti, i know now
