Default 97 uk turbo induction kit, maf killer?

hi, im looking at buying a 97 uk turbo in the next few days, its a really nice car but has a induction kit fitted and also a dump valve. are the mafs on this model a bit safer than the 99/00 models which are really weak. i have seen a standard airbox on ebay which i will get, but generally will it be ok with the i/k? also will dump the dump valve, do they do any damage to the engines on subarus? finally i take it the car is fitted with the td04 same as the later cars? should i just bite the bullet and get a simtek fitted and keep the i/k as it will do away with the maf issue. car has full hks decat, stainless up pipe and headers heat wrapped, walbro fuel pump, so remap would be next on the agenda but will have to be apexi fc or simtek yes?

I am pretty sure the MAFs are not as temperamental as the MY98-00 cars. I would sell the Induction kit and dump valve for a bit of cash on eBay. My Blitz BOV will be up for sale once the standard one is back in place.

Its only the 99/00 model year turbocharged cars that have the fragile maf's, there should be no issue with a 97 year car Subaru UK even use to do a panel filter for these
