I had one of these and yup that's what I was getting..could swear even when I driving it 5 mins down the road you could see the fuel gauge drop!
Painful, but loved the car.
Could be to do with the mapping ..mine did smell as if it was running rich , and MOT time the garage had to do some serious tweeking to get past emissions.

sounds about right. Dont forget if the roads also dictate the MPG, guess theres alot of roundabouts and traffic lights and hill around his way

"The Old Beast" was a 2002 STI; "The Beast" is my 2007 STI.

The '02 was averaged over about 1 year. The '07 over 4 months.

Driving style: Moderate.

I've found the greatest impact is from green light launches. Avoid these and economy picks up - obvious - i know - but makes a considerable difference.

Probably about right. Should be able to get nearer 30mpg on motorway run at steady 70mph although it is dull.

Its called "Road Trip" by Darren Stone. There's a try before you buy lite version, and the full version is £2.99. It's great for tracking all vehicle costs.

I used to reckon that its was on average 50 miles to £10 of SUL

That was on an 02 & and 05 STI PPP

Just bought a 330S - so don't know what that'll be doing yet

Default "pansy like driver"

i am the so called "pansy like driver" (cheers Oli) and have just averaged 27mpg keeping it below 3k revs at all times. It seems my right foot is heavier than i realised with my usual 19mpg, most boring 200+ miles i have covered but proves poor mpg is down to my driving rather than any issues with car

cheers

In the interest of this thread I drove to Tarifa and back keeping below 3000 revs, I could still get up to 80 on the autopista but it nearly killed me on the mountain B roads to plod, it felt very wrong indeed... however I did get 350 miles which I think is 22 mpg.
My conclusions are that you might as well rag the hell out of it everywhere and have fun because you aint gonna save much juice by going slow!
