That's where I got the numbers from, along with others for service items I need on a short block swap.
Athough supposedly for a G11 Euro car, most of the part numbers aren't coming up on the Walldonwaypartsshop website, so I was wondering if they were US only part no.s?

I used that site to check the number of the rear main oil seal and it was right. Best thing would be to phone a dealers with the numbers and see what they come back with.

 

If the part no.s are correct then the 2.5 STi OEM clutch kit (reputed to be fine for 400-450 bhp) is about £100 cheaper than a stage 2 Exedy.

 

Did you get one then Butty? If so what was the price out of interest. Iv heard a lot of bad things with uprated clutch's , judder and stuff, Cant see what is wrong with the O/E one

 

OEM clutch for MY06+ is a different kettle of fish to those that need 350bhp clutches for classics. My exedy pink 230 is awesome, no judder, no smells lol BUT the fly/clutch combo has made for some nasty transmission noises on deceleration. A combination of noisy flywheel and clutch, reduced harmonic dampening and increased NVH noise on account of all the various mounts, bushes etc nature of the beast really.

Total £260 for a clutch kit able to take 400+ lbft!
A bit cheaper than an Exedy stage 2 and judderless (if flywheel is also ok).

I think that's a good price for a clutch, I guess your looking at about £250-£300 for fitting?, again what sort of cost is involved to skim the fly wheel?

 

Cheapest price I could find for a suitable Exedy kit was £370 from Lateral.

I don't know what the fitting price is, but your price looks the right area - the clutch is being changed whilst the engine is out to do the head gaskets and a forged bottom end.
Cambelt also being done at the same time as it's nearly due.

Flywheel skim I guess would be £30-£50?

Cheers Nick, Handy to know when the time comes as the bite on the clutch is very high but with no slip. Also having my cam belt service done this Tuesday along with a 22 rear ARB
