Hi Guys
Could you advise me on how much I can lower it and which springs to purchase.

Fitted today a new set of Rota Force 18 x 9 and stretched 225/40/18 tyres looks wicked but needs to be dropped.

Is there someone else with a Blobeye who has done this already?

eibach springs.... i wouldnt want to go any lower.... about a 30mm drop... front splitter really low now....

 

Sivo...I was thinking that, I cant go too low with the 9" width rims. Is your a STI cause there lower than wrx anyway standard.
How much clearance have you got front and back?

 

prodrive springs.just fitted some to mine and well impressed.

 

speak to bockett or budgie on here . they are the two guys in the know

 

got about 25mm clear now front and back, post a side on pic with your new rims, majority of aftermarket springs offer different drops but remember they do take a while to bed in

I have Whiteline flatout (-50mm) springs with some 8x18s. Plenty of room for spacers/wider rim but if I had my time again (after what it cost for springs, shocks and adjustable top mounts) I would have some BC coilovers. The ride well, cost less than my complete set-up (especially in a GB) and give you more adjustability

 

JonMc your car looks sweet mate. Are the BC coilovers highly rated among everyone on here or is it tein/eibach etc...

The BCs are popular because they seem to run springs rates that are suited to UK roads, whereas the teins are considered quite hard. The eibach coilover are height adjustable only, use the factory top mounts so not adjustable and all in just seem to be a poor relation

 

There seems to be a problem with the new age springs with BC's which cause then to knock but I now here that there is a replacement spring you can order. so make sure you research this if you go for the BC;s. check out BC's knocking!!!! ( 1 2 3 4 5)

Prodrive springs will drop it about 25mm, ebay. 100 quid

 

What's the wheel offset?

 

The offset is 38 mate.

Very good. So it looks like you wishing to run a mildly aggressive offset. Really, the amount you wish to lower your vehicle depends entirely on what type of look you are going for. Some suggest lowering a lot, some say a little. In my honest opinion, aggressive wheels don't look very nice unless the car is lowered substantially.

For example this aggressive fitment 2004 STI is lowered on 18" x 9.5" +22 Rota DPTs:



Keep in mind however, that your rear fenders will most likely have to be rolled, and that you will be running quite a bit of camber both front and rear. Also, your camber curve will also be thrown way out of place, and will you will need a roll centre adjustment kit in order to correct that.
