Default rwd scooby conversion, any info?

hey all, anyone got any info on the performance of a classic sti converted to rearwheel drive?

at santapod i got pipped by an mr2 turbo running very similar power! it launched as well as my scooby an i done 60ft in 2.003 sec! then slowly pulled 2 tenths on me, i wonder how well the scooby would launch rwd? must be an advantage not turning the front wheels once your moving!

also a friend told me my jap sti 2's stock 0-60 is about 4.4 sec, that sounds a bit low to me? anyone got the rock solid stats?

a friend also told me they're limited to 145 cause the driveshafts pop out???? cant be true surely?

loadsa questions know you wont let me down ppl, cheers

as far as i know an sti is actually 5 seconds only the p1 or type R got lower.

RWD i dont think would make much difference

for example the red lancer in tokyo drift is actually 2 seconds slower than stock due to the extra weight.

the scoob is fine thought about launch control. i think the mr2 is lighter as well.

as for top speed i dunno tbh i wouldnt of thought its easy to get a driveshaft to pop out.

If your talking about the sti being limited to 145 then that is incorrect, with regards to the mr2 bing limited i've no idea.

I thought the sti was the same spec as a P1? I thought they were virutally identical apart from one is an import and the P1 is UK, the P1 costs more as its more rare. Could be completely wrong.

All classics except the turbo 2000 are imports. The turbo 2000 is the only uk car car in classic shape the p1 is 309bhp the sti is 280bhp the p1 has stiffer suspention as well. The mr2 is not limited as far as I know.

Not quite.

P1 is a two door coupe and based on the STi Type R but tuned for UK use. The Type R came with DCCD and a more aggressive set of gear ratios and was much quicker than the STi to 60. There are loads of threads about the comparisons, so I won't bother you with them all.

STi were 4 door saloons, no DCCD and slightly slower. At import the STi was limited to 112 mph by the Japs but this is easily corrected and 150 mph is not uncommon.
