Definately easier (and possibly cheaper) to just get a Carbon boot.

They are light...my mate made the mistake of putting a few tools on my boot,i didnt see them and clicked the lever....they went flying over the car and landed some way off.....

Not too bad.
I was terrified to drill it but my mate turned spoiler upside down and we put a large sheet of paper over it and rubbed a crayon over it.
This showed where the holes where.
We then laid this on the boot and drilled...sorted....

We used a sharp drill bit and to be honest,it was no different to just drilling fibre glass (which it is partly anyway )

I have Seibon carbon bonnet, which is actually pretty much made from fiberclass. When i installed aerocatch hoodpins,i just drilled a little holes carefully and made them bigger with dremel. It was very easy job.I think that it is best be done, when weather is warm or in a warm garage. It is also very dusty job,so cover your engine.

I believe, that they don't want to take risk cracking it.
I can also speak only for regular Seibon carbon bonnet, dry carbon may be different story.
In dremel i used sandpaper.
