Default £5K for my Bug Sti prodrive ?

I'm looking to sell my bug sti prodrive 02 and have only been offered £5k from a dealer as px against an M3.Mine has a Fsh but needs its next service and has 90k on the clock. Is this the going price for a scoob these days or am I being seen off ? What is the ball park figure for a good nic scoob for my age and mileage ?

Well I brought my 2002 52 plate wrx with 48k on the clock for £5 1/2 and yours has more mileage but its the sti prodrive so should be worth about the same, yet the twist is mine is worth about £6000 at current value and looking at sites such as piston heads and autotrader etc.. so yours should be too or around that. So why not sell privately and get more? Also a dealer will see your car in at about £4500 on trade and prob give you £500 as your buying m3, so by going to a dealer you will always lose about £1000 at least compared to selling privately. sorry for long winded convo but used to work at Landrover and Bmw as sales manager.

Mate if that is a px from a dealer then that would be about right it's not a bad offer, if you were talking private then no of it's a genuine prodrive bug then I would say 6.5 tops due to millage but if you are willing to let a trader take it off your hands for that money I would pop it up in the for sale section for the trade in price a let a fellow member get a bargin rather then a dealer make money. I am sure there will be classic owners wanting to make a move up but can't afford the 6.5k so give them a chance

Its the "Prodrive style" Sti dave, not a normal bug with PPP. I was going to go to a dealer as I thought it may be easier, didn't think It was worth that little though!
I think i'll hang on to it until I get a decent price as I'm in no rush to get rid at the mo.I think I'll try and price it around £6.5 and see what happens.

what does it matter what youve been offered as a part ex? Its all about the cost to change.

If you was offered 5k on a 20k car the difference is 15k
If the dealer offered you 1k part ex for your bug but you got 4k off the screen price on the new car the difference to you is still 15k

Get it?

It depends on what the price and age of the M3 whether that is a good offer. No dealer would offer alot more than that unless he is making a killing on the car he is selling.

Cost to change is everything. If I was offered £1 for a car, as long as it equated to a good deal I would not longer care. Years ago I'd have had an issue with being undervalued.

Anyway, the numbers on the invoice always look different for "sales purposes"!

A the end of the day you will still get the same amount off a car and if you dont go elsewhere and make sure they know your gonna go elsewhere, watch them run after you out the dealership door and offer you the same amount off, trust me been in sales since I was 17 (car sales)
