Sounds like overboosting to me, does your rev counter drop to 0 and after about 3 seconds does it kick back in? Mine does this every now and then. I'm no expert though.

Question

Have you just fitted de-cat dp and/or induction kit?

Some of these (and temp changes) can cause overboost causing the ecu to "fuel cut".

Do you have any sort of boost controller?

Do you have a boost guage?

MD.

ps poor spilling

Question

What I'm getting at is have you only just changed something?

Have you only just experienced this "power cut" or have you seen it before?

If you have never had the problem and after changing eg. the exhaust, then you can assume that this has caused the problem.

I am no expert, I can only tell you what I believe is right

Chips? not sure about that, Maybe a fuel cut defenser would help you.

I have read that cleaning out all the boost solenoid pipes can cure overboost...you can use aerosol brake cleaner for this.

Hope this helps you, MD.

i had the exhaust and air filter put on virtually the day i bought it so i cant compare but it has got worse since i put the dump valve on. although when accelorating carefully it is much faster with the dump valve than without. its as though the mods are to much to take for something.

CS, try cleaning the boost solonoid pipes, then if that dont work re-fit the airbox and see if that will do anything.

You didnt say if you have a boost controller (?)

If it is still doing it in the milder weather I would think about a Dawes or an electronic valve controller, that way you have some control.

Good luck, MD.
