BMW 316i - Advise Please
#1
My mate is selling his BMW 316i 1989 saloon for £1400. The car has only had two owners from new (one of them for 11 years). My mate has had it for 18 months with no problems apart from the cam followers which have just been replaced.
My question is how much work would have been involved in replacing the followers as I have a feeling that the person that fitted them was a bit of a cow boy!!.
The car is in mint condition so I am keen to buy it as a second car, to prevent putting too many miles on the scoob.
Any advice would be appreciated.

There's not that much work involved for a mechanic, basicly if it sounds ok and there is no oil leaks from the top end of the engine its likely that its all fine and dandy, as its a case of if there not in right it won't run, ask him how many miles since they were fitted and if its over a couple of hundred i would say no problems at all.if can remember right there not the quietest of engines anyway. and at the price you will get your money back if your not suited, take it from me ive had 12 BMW's and 3 scoobies and they are more reliable than scoobies, cya Neo
