hi folks im buyin a z4 ecu and need to no if there is anything i can check to make sure it is a z4 other than the label on the top as its coming from fleebay its for my 93 wrx

i don't think there is anything you can check

mine looked like this on the inside (it shouldn't have the black plastic chip holder though if it's standard

 

ye, import ecus never had them chip ports as standard. only uk ones did
you have to solder them in your self

but, the ecu where you plug the pins in. has a little blue sticker
that has some numbers on, this should match the main sticker on the front

know what you mean, nothing to stop people swapping the cases over! one the main reasons why i have never upgraded from my w6 ecu.

 

subaru should have stamped some letters to the bourd
pitty, a lad on midland scoobs is selling a z4 too

diden't want much either mate.

 

how much??? can i add a chip to the z4 aswell??

mo point in buying a z4 and then adding a chip, may as well just put the chip in the one you have. no difference.
