While picking up my new motor yesterday in Blegium, my dealer happily stated that PPP is now accepted by SUbaru Belgium. This has been agreed for a week now.

Does this mean i need to go back to BElgium to fit it or can i get it fitted in the UK???

Bobby,

Dunno an official answer but it might be worth getting it in writing from Hans about warrranty cover etc to prove to IM in case things get sticky. At last, some good news about PPP if I want it in the future (if.... more like when)

How's the car? Mine's on order but via Keyring - couldn't get any cheaper direct as I'm not buying in bulk like you according to Hans.

BL hope u dont mind me asking but what are u paying for a MY02 by going direct to Belgium rather than using say Keyring or any of the others, the reason I ask is I am seriously thinking of taking this route in about 5-6 months time and im too lazy to go searching for relevant threads, cost is £17K at keyring but used to see ads for £15995, I dont mind a trip to Belgium if i can save another 1K

Thanks

Dave

BL, I'm still waiting on confirmation from Subaru Benelux on this, I think I'll drop them a line, they said they'd let me know but maybe they forgot.

Nick from Prodrive has already confirmed this (that we can have PPP under warranty but have to get a belgium dealer to fit it) but I'm just waiting on confirmation from their side before I go ahead.

I don't suppose he mentioned a price.

FYI

So it looks like im going to have another trip to Belgium then!!! The dealer told me that PPP cannot be installed until you have 1500 miles on the clock. He also says he can do a discount if i travel over. So i guess, the more orders he gets the cheaper it'll be. Maybe worth starting a group buy!!!

Apple

When does your motor arrive??? Looking forward to it??

Funkii Munkii

In terms of price you will be saving costs if you pick up ypur car from Belgium & also a little bit more if you go direct. It also depends on when you make the booking on the currency. However, give Hans (Garage Troch) a call on 0032 58 801804. He'll be happy to help & tell him i sent you (believe me, it'll be worth it). Other costs can be saved i.e. pre-registration & taking plates over & not buying transit plates. But that is your risk!!

BL,STI5 - group buy, sounds good to me. As soon as I get confirmation through Subaru Benelux (nothing received yet) I'll let you know and then we can start shopping around.

I'm certainly up for a group buy on PPP via Benelux if we can't do it under warranty in the UK - new MY02 arrives from Holland next week and will be putting PPP in it after a couple of 1000 for sure;

This from Subaru Belgium yesterday as it happens -

Dear Mr. Darren,

Only Belgian dealers are allowed to sell/install the PPP to be covered by
Belgian warranty.

Regards

SUBARU BENELUX

So lets all go to belgium!!!

Is someone going to organise a group belgium buy?

My MY02 + PPP from Belgium arrived just under two weeks ago. The PPP was fitted by the dealer in Belgium with less than 10 miles on the clock. As the V5 has not turned up yet the warranty has not been registered with IM so this will be whan the fun and games begin.

Looking forward to opening her up after 1000 miles have been completed

Spoke to Hans Troch today. He is willing to fit PPP for 2000 Euro per car. This is apparently a discount of 129 Euro on his standard price. It takes 2 hours to fit & he will need 2 days notice to order the parts if anyone is interested. He will arrange fitting on a Saturday, but was not willing to lower his price any further.

I am quite interested in sorting a PPP out so if any one else knows of other friendly Benelux dealers please let me know.

Narinder.
