Default Prodrive parts, what and what for?

Dear all,

Is there a list of what parts are fitted on the ppp pack on 2.5
sti and what benifits they give?

Susspension for better handeling
sports cat for better exhaust flow

What else?

Thanks for that.
It doesn't mention things like the intercooler y pipe, what's the differance between the standard and the prodrive one?
Is there a reason why they update the fuel pump when most mapper say the standard is ok for around 340bhp?

So besides exhaust, y pipe, fuel pump and ecu, a standard sti and a prodrive are the same?

I take it your car is the 2.5 litre Sti, if this is right all you get from the PPP is three components.....
1. Short bit of stainless steel pipe to replace the cat (not the down pipe one)
2. nice shiny back box.
3. Chipped ECU.
All for about £1700.

If you sorted you self. remap, back box, bit of stainless pipe it will cost approx £1000 with better gains

No mate its not touched, down pipe is left as standard. Older models changed the down pipe to a sports cat but not the Hawkeye.

It keeps the std cat. Its a little different in design from the previous newage ones (less restrictive?) and Prodrive were reporting that using a sports cat resulted in overboosting during PPP development so didn't bother changing it.

£1700 without a sports cat makes it look poor value for money compared with DIY or previuos PPP.

You don't have a cat in the up pipe

All you need to do is take out the cat under the car not the down pipe one. this is about £ 80.00 then a good panel filter about £40.00 than a remap about £600.00.
then you should see about 320BHP-340BHP with similar torque or maybe a little more

No not the resonated section that's just to keep the noise level down. Before that section you have a cat !!

Got ya, so it's back box, no ninja 2, then sesonator, now removed, then a cat, needs removing. With it removed, will it fail mot? And does it effect noise?

The noise level will increase a little when the cat is removed but not a lot. yes it will pass the MOT if mapped correctly, If you think about it all you are doing is copying the PPP which passes the MOT, but because you are going to get a custom map you will get better gains

PPP can aparantly be hit and miss with figures, if you are out of warranty etc, as already said, a remap by a reputable mapper will see much better gains for around £600. I had my 06 sti remapped by Simon (Jolly Green Monster), leaving both cats in, panel filter and changed the resonated section and back box and got 340bhp and 355 lbs/ft. It transformed the car totally.

If you want to get the most out of the remap why dont you want to change it your only looking at £100 to have it done.

Agreed, I wished i'd done mine before the map, but at the time £100 was £100, and with the other bits I was doing it had to stop somewhere. But next time i would get it all done at the same time. Also JGM said he would get it to around 330bhp even with the cat in. It ended up at 340 which i was chuffed with anyway.

Found the layout on scoobypieda, pipe only costs £80 and should take me 20 mins tops to do. Will have to arrange a re map with Andrew Carrs, about £300.
Any idea what it does to your insrance?
