Been out in a Type RA 2.5 litre tonight.......
.......and all I can say is......WOW! It pulls from 1500 rpm, when the turbo comes in the power is incredible, you can tootle about in 5th, then plant it and it just pulls and pulls and pulls.
Thanks Nathan.

I THINK mine's going to become a 2.5 engined small-ish turbo 350/350 flyer.
But I've heard bad stuff about the clearances on 2.5 engines, picking up pistons etc, and that Subaru will no longer warranty a 2.5 short engine if it's fitted to a 2 litre car

They are good value staight out of the crate.
Still prefer 2ltr engines myself at that output.

Out of interest:
Has any one ever put a twin scroll on 2.5? Or is this not a done thing?

I believe RobinSherwood fitted one to his Spec D.
Just needs the turbo plus up and downpipes.

Ah, but there you have it: going over 300, and in a 2 litre car, is now a no-no as far as Subaru are concerned.
350...........maybe.
400?

300/360 is fine for a road car.... at a sensible price !
Mine lacks grunt, and a forged 2.5 makes it look like a 957 Fiesta
3.6 TT at 700 bhp sounds about right.....

The capacity comes from using the 2.5 crank in the 2.2 litre engine as fitted to the 22B and Legacy.
