Default HELP NEEDED WATER NO CIRCULATING

hi guyz
i have fitted this new engine in my car and i am having this nightmares now, the bottom pipe of the rad is stone cold and it does not get hot i dont know if is a air lock, i have taken the bottom pipe out to see if any water comes out of it but nothing is coming from there, could it be a blockage somewhere inside the engine or the thermostat stuck or the water pump i have no idea, the guy who i bought this engine from he said the engine is old it has been sitting around for a long time, there is no smokes or any thing the car is idleling well any ideas please.

cheers

Disconnect top and bottom hoses, fill rad from top hose, if nothing comes out bottom hose your radiator is blocked..................

Where's the temp sender unit for the fans?
If it's not on the rad then the hot water in the block will be keeping the fans on as it'll never be cooling down.
Get the water circulating again and the fans will sort themselves out.

Have a look at the thermostat, maybe even take it out and try putting water in the top hose (radiator end) and see if it comes out of the thermostat housing.

If the pump was seized the belt would be slipping like hell on the pulley you would no. Start from the top, drain the system down fully. Remove the water pipe that runs from the header tank to the turbo, fill the system using the pipe that connects to the turbo.
When you can see water backing up the the header tank, its full.

Start and run the car with the heaters on, check that the heaters are blowing hot as they should when the engine is upto temp. If they are wait longer and the stat should open.

head gasket symtoms are usually overheating and water being forced out of the overflowby the battery. you have not described this so i think you have either air lock or bad water pump. when i fill mine i disconnect the top rad hose and fill engine side then fill rad side, both VERY SLOWLEY. i mean slow. If you do it slow you hear it burp. Then connect top hose and top up header tank SLOWLEY. start engine with cap off, run till water starts to expand and spew up. fit cap. job done.
