Default 330 to 400 bhp

right currently running about 330 and was looking for as much advice as poss

car at the min
my00
ecutek mapped
uprated fuel pump
yellow injectors
vf35
full decat
ported headers
everything else is standard

what will it take to get my car to 400bhp (safe)
break down and cost please

Bigger turbo e.g. MD321H or 20G, 550cc injectors, fmic and remap should see you at 400bhp but the gearbox will be on borrowed time!

2.1 stroker into your block, 20g with supporting mods you will be between 380 to 400, over 400 with methanol.

321h another 400 bhp turbo or even the s206 that is making 500 bhp.

as above, your gear box will eat its self from what has happeded to other people in the past. and if your block is standard, that wont last long as well.

to get to the 400 costs alot, and more that that..... well you better be a banker

Got the T-shirt, it's not worth it....

Sure 400 bhp can slap you in the face, but HOW often can you use it ?

Cost vs performance is a no brainer, if your car handles properly and stops o.k. then just learn to use it to the maximum.

MD321H £1495
Manifold £500
Re-map £300-400
Injectors £300
Parallel mod £150 (?)
Labour (?)

Done it on all to my New-Age STI, and it overwhelmed the clutch (£1000) before getting re-mapped ! Then once done it showed how tired the STI suspension was £1000.

Why are people all about BIG BHP people forget that you get on those twisties and a fat new age standard JDM STI will leave that 400bhp car for dust (and they will).
Go spend your hard earnt cash on a classic JDM STI with quick rack steering and uprated suspension, you will notice some difference the fact is that your car isnt a good platform for a good 400bhp road car, not many scoobs are except the JDM cars which still need a bit of tweaking, but your money is going in all the wrong places, uprate your suspension, uprate your brakes, go do a driver training course, go swap your car for a better out of the box version, it all counts.
