Default Why does my car like MAF's ?

Just had fitted today its 2nd MAF on my 2007 GB270.

First one failed at 20,000 miles and it was 12mths ago - August and today at 39,890 miles its gone again ?

Never brings on the engine light though !

There must be some kind of problem been masked by these failures any ideas ?

Watched the guy doing the fault investigation on it when it was on the standard Subaru dealership laptop and when he was revving it up to 6,000 revs there was a small flat plateu where the fault was developing then it would carry on up to its normal peak.

Dont know if that means anything to anyone on here ?

No fault codes either and he also did a throttle pedal reset that made no differance so the MAF was then changed

Yeah, it explains why it was replaced in a context where you weren't getting a check engine light.

As a matter of interest, why was the garage investigating in the first place? Had you actually noticed the car driving wrong?

Someone as mentioned there is a software upgrade that can be performed by the dealership.

I will give them a bell today as they had never had to change one on a hawkeye before and couldn't believe that this was its 2nd one.

Nige.
