hi all im really confused about weather or not to fit my fmic or sell it and buy an sti9 tmic.

ive been told the with the tmic the throttle response will be better but then other people have told me that it wont take 350 bhp where as a fmic would is this true because it recking my head

 

For bigger power a FTIC is normally chosen.

No, a sti 9 tmic should be fine. (Says the man who has a fmic at 340bhp)

 

I have gone for an FMIC as intake temps seem to be that much lower, and as mine sees a bit of track work, the TMIC will heatsoak.

Top tip- if someone quotes you a reasonable price to fit it, bite their arm off- its a horrible PITA

 

A V7/8/9 STI intercooler will be fine for 350 bhp if you get the larger scoop and tray to go with it.

 

my mates running just over 400bhp on an sti top mount. from what i've heard and seen top mounts are good for up to the late 300's+

 

lichfield imports seem to run there type25,s with 400 plus bhp with top mounts no probs

 

there's barely any difference in throttle response. you soon compensate for the marginal loss in 'snappiness'

 

Running 445 with STi8 TMIC, No probs at all. Andy Forrest also runs over 400 with a TMIC.
FMIC are ugly, unless the are sprayed black. imo
