Does the 2005 WRX have the piddly TD04 FE? I'm sure it does or otherwise you wouldn't be asking this question, lol.

The perfect OEM solution for 320-350 would be the still quick-spooling VF35 (I think these are what are fitted to the Bugeye and Blobeye STi). Spools slightly later in the rev range compared to the TD04 (but what doesn't?!), but pulls much harder in the mid-top end and should produce c.330-350bhp.

There is the roller-bearing version of it, the VF34. I understand that these are more fragile but do spool slightly earlier and hold boost a little better. Like for like, the VF34 is dearer too, I believe.

of you do a search i'm sure the VF35 spools earlier than the 34, the 34 have higher top end power thatn the 35

Yeah that's the one... '35 earlier spool; '34 more top end.

Sorry folks.

VF34 isn't fragile on normal use-may be more so on a rally car.
Anyone on here getting more than 350bhp from a Vf34? I heard 375bhp

Thanks for all the help guys, actually spoke to subaru and found that the VF35 is being used on both the STI and WR1 models from 2002-2005!! So i did what we all love to do and got the credit card out...... the rest is history!! it arrived this morning and it is f*****g massive compared to the standard WRX turbo. Hope it does achieve 330+bhp, and pulls like a bitch.

Talking

It's not so much the VF35 is "massive"... but more the fact that the TD04 is a cutesy liddle miniature thing, lol
