I have a 53 wrx and has been mapped by Andy Forrest and is running 356 BHP.
The question is if i put a 6 speed box in it will i have to get it mapped again because of the extra gear.

the only possible issue really is if 6th gear is longer geared than the 5th gear on the previous box.. as the load will be increased, so it would need checking for both det and overboost.. this is assuming there is no gear compensation set up on the car which on the standard ecu on your car there isn't so assume there is no boost controller fitted etc

I thought the new age Denso ECU was capable of supporting in gear boost compensation without the need for AVCR?

it isn't wonderful but is there in some of them.
however if the car is still on the original turbo it is unlikely to have needed altering much and there would only be an issue if 6th gear was longer than the 5th it was mapped on or 6th a lot lower as boost would then needed upping etc..
