I've got an STi iv and mines got white dials with the rev counter in the middle. The speedo will have been changed from km to miles when it was imported but should still match (although the font's a bit different on mine. Its also a bit inacurate showing 10% too high.

Cool

The white dial dash (borrowed from the forester) appeared on the UK MY98 cars. The STI4 was an MY98 (Japanese model) so I guess theres a good chance it has the white dials.

Becareful just because its registered in 1997 may mean it could be an MY98.

MY97 were STI 3's

MY98 went from September 1997 to August 1998. The model code should be :

GC8E2DD for an STI4 Type R
GC8E4ED for an STI4 4 door
GF8E5ED for an STI4 5 door

The important digit is the 4th in this case an E which signifies an MY98.

See if you can get the model code off the VIN plate. The VIN plate is located in teh engine bay on the passenger side near the top of the suspension.

You can look the model code up on the sidc faq

http://www.sidc.co.uk/faq.htm

Hope this helps

Chris
