I have the BC coilovers sold via the many group buys. Really happy with them. But yes, the rears do knock. Only ever hear it when driving v. slowly over bumpy ground. Sometimes when the car is jacked up and then put back down they calm down for a while.

Could be the top mounts that are busted, did you replace them as well?

I have the BC,s on mine with NO knocking at all!! They are also a better ride than the standard STI stuff on full soft settings.

When you fitted them did you check the Top Mounts bolts were tight when the car was back on the floor with the wheels on?

A mate of mine failed to do this and that was the cause of his knocking!

I have BC's on my 03sti. Yes when hitting a badly sunken drain I did hear a knock from the back. Daily knocks no, but I do hear more 'noises' from the suspension/drivetrain in general. Stuff I could hear before but now much louder proabably due to having solid top mounts now.
Hope that helps, but as said before check the nut on the top of the strut to see if it is still tight.

dipster.

I've hated every car I've driven with coilovers, they may well be good on track but on the road we need all the compliance we can get (especially with the state of our roads)

I, on the odd occasion, hear a "twang" from them springs at the front when cornering (as the weight shifts from side to side).

I'm running Tein SS

I had a knock at one point on the rear and found it was my drop links, these are solid whiteline items, found the bolt was not quite tight enough!

Tein SS. No knocking at all.

If all is well they shouldn't knock.

As suggested above, suggest you look at your drop links and top mounts.

Check the dampers haven't lost any oil, that can create knocking. I speak from experience.

Another thing you could try is stripping the unit and pressing the piston in by hand. If it goes in easily, stays in and takes minutes to come back out then it's probably broken, or got no oil in and this will cause constant knocking.
