Default WTF is happening on this site?

Ive decided to start a thread to see how others feel about this.

Basically, I bought an Impreza STi the other week for 5300.

A few days later, I posted a reply to this thread. You can see my reply on page 2.
https://www.scoobynet.com/private-sa...iced-sell.html

After this, I replaced the timing belt on my car, mot'd it and cleaned it up.

I then decided to advertise it for 7895. I thought, what the hell, and tried my luck.
I put an ad on here and one in my local paper.

Heres my ad on here

https://www.scoobynet.com/private-sa...dm-sti-v7.html

As you can see, the first reply I got stated the price I paid for it.
Scooby23 obviously had no intention of buying it but decided to let everyone know what I paid for the car.

Why do this and ruin someones chances of selling a car??

I then sold the car for 7100 to a local guy who was as pleased as punch with it.

I put a 'sold' post up and thanked Scooby23 for his constructive comments and was told I was ''a **** for blabbing'' how much I paid for the car.

Does anyone else think I was blabbing???

Next thing, Voodoosumbdyorother says I overpriced the car and therefore ''ripped the guy off''???

The car was tip top when sold with a new MOT??

AM I missing something here???? Have I done something wrong?? Or does anyone else think that these two are just a teeny weeny bit jelous I have sold a car for more than I got it for?

PLEASE leave your views on this as they seem to think I wanted to rip fellow 'scoobynetters' off.
Or does anyone else think I have ripped the guy off?? I had it up for 7895 and sold it for 7100. I never held a gun to his head to buy it!!! I am no car dealer, I had planned on keeping it and mapping. Please click on my username and read my other posts.

Its just pi$$ing me off that these two think that by buying a car cheap and selling it on for more than you got it for is ripping people off.

Cheers fellas,

TBH, its just this site that seems to try and hammer the prices of these cars down. When I had my Evo and was on the MLR website, all the cars for sale on it were slightly above the likes of pistonheads etc??

You constantly see folk selling there cars on here and the first 10 comments are'' oooo, you'll never sell it at that price.''
or ''my mate uncle just bought one the same as that for half the price''
WTF??????? If you havent got anything constructive to say, dont say it!??

Something is only worth what people will pay for it. If your buyer was happy with it, whether he be fellow SNetter or not, then I can't see the problem.

edit: I've had a read on both those threads and I'm sure they've broken the board rules by attempting to sabotage a sale thread. Good on you mate. Maybe we can start regaining a little value on our cars again!

This is a free country ... we generally do as we please, we buy at a price we are happy with - we sell at what we are happy with. Some lose, some gain, some don't give a damned either way!

It's pure jealousy that you made a killing ... that's all it is.

I really wouldn't worry about it

must have been a genuine car otherwise it would'nt have gone, i like some dont mind paying over book price for a good car its cheaper in the long run.
if you know that the car was good it doesnt matter a f**k what other say.
well done for getting a good fair price.

Thanks for the replies guys, thought I was going mad for a while there.

As for Scooby23, I know its a bit late and he might not be online but I'd quite like an apology for ruining my ad and posting something that had **** all to do with him.
Whether I get it on not remains to be seen.

And Voodoorider, I'm begining to think thats a made up username from Scooby23 with his number of posts an' all!!

Nobody forced him to buy the car did they? Simple supply and demand. You had it and he wanted it so you sold it for a price you were both happy with. I don't see the problem at all. Good on ya, carry on and i hope you make more on the next one.

I can remember that one very well - caused quite a stir but made me smile. If someone is willing to put time and energy into something which generates a bit of extra ca$h without sh!tting on anyone or selling **** poor quality goods, then fair play to 'em!
