Default remote file access and syncing software

let me explain as perhaps the title isnt the most revealing.

I need some software which I can stick on my machine at home and then connect to from over the internet, work on the files on it and then save them. I know I can do this via remote desktop or VPN but sometimes the connection I have isnt very fast or the wife might be using the machine.

What I basically need is something which connect I can use the files, and then either copy them back, or click synchronize and it does all the donkey work.

Most of the files are either web pages or word/excel files so nothing major but I have about 2 gig in total. Hence the need to sync.

Anyone know of anything which will do this?

cheers

Why don't you just use office live where your files are stored on the internet ?

ahh but 2gb may be too much!

Mesh is always good!!!

Alternatively you could poke a few holes in your firewall, sort out a little bit of routing and FTP it using a decent client
