Worst Day Of My Life So Far...
Had a mishap 3 weeks ago - i lost control of my car on black ice and ended up rolling the car a few times this was after smashing thru a farmer's fence (he wasn't happy).
The car only stopped rolling because it hit a tree and the car ended up on it's roof - all in all a pretty scary experience.
Most of the accident i don't remember because i hit my head pretty hard, so what your reading now is what i was told happened.
This is the outcome (pics not the best but you get the idea):

Worst Damage:

I was a little hesitant putting the photo's up as i don't really like looking at them - to many painful memories saying goodbye to my scooby (Rather the scooby than me i guess).

Ditto the above...
A few months down the line, when things have gotten themselves sorted and youv'e got a new scooby on the drive you can smile about it all.
Metal can be replaced-you can't,so(easier said than done!) put things into perspective and enjoy not being six foot under

Dont feel sorry for the car, it's doing its job (very well by the looks of things) my mate rolled three times, bent every pannel, pushed the roof down to dashboard level and still got out alive! A scooby is a hard nut to crack.
You walked away with a story to tell, how many other drivers in the same situation could tell the same story?

You must be gutted, can't have been much road left before slowing into Stainburn
Bet you'll use the by-pass in future
A mate of mine had someone pull out in front of him on a roundabout and he clipped the kerb trying to avoid her, the car flipped clean over (no, he wasn't speeding). He managed to bend EVERY panel except the roof, THAT was pristine as the car was in the air when upside down!
He was really gutted as it was his first brand new car, but he bounced back and moved on. Ultimately: it's a thing, you're not.

**** the bed mate, Sod the car glad you are ok!
Just shows they can take a right beating. Ive always thought they would crumple right up Subaru's.
Any plans on getting another one ?

Glad the OP got out of that one though, people rate scoobs as being very strong, unfortunately this isnt the truth
it just depends on the type of accident and what you land on in most cases, and you were lucky that tree didnt hit anywhere too sensitive on the car
but damn glad you survived in one piece

Alot of classic owners say they are strong, but its late 80's technology in these cars, in the new age they are late 90's technology and far stronger (because people think that its 4wd it strenghtens the body, its only a prop shaft and that can pop off!)
I think we should do a poll on this one
but they are not strong at all! (hence why i said he was lucky

three weeks ago my scooby was totalled due to black ice - lost control of the car and ended up straight into brick wall - result 1 totalled scooby. like u all say its only a car but its damn upsetting , when you get out of the car and see the damage thats been done
the police told us if we was travelling any faster we would have gone straight through the wall to which was a 100 ft or more drop and we wouldnt be here at all. so i know have 1 dead scooby on my drive but brightside is bought a new one

Chin up mate, it's been said before, but as attached as we get to em, they're just metal and plastic! They can be replaced, you can't!
Dust yourself off, be grateful you're ok, learn any lessons you can from the incident and move on!
I'm reminded of a notice a theme park owner was reputed to have put up on the gates of the park the day after a fire burned the whole place to the ground. [I made up the name of the park, as I don't recall the actual name]
"Today is a worse day than yesterday, tomorrow will be a better day than today. Dreamland will be rebuilt. Admission to see the ashes, 5 bucks!"

I did "Golf" quite badly back in 1995, bad back and still flinch in certain situations, just be grateful that modern cars are so much stronger than they used to be.... whilst crumpling around you !
As stated, just be steady for a few months and chill, I bought a Mazda 323F V6, 18 months of "cruising" then the Impreza bug bit, at 2 years I chopped it in and started enjoying driving again.
dunx

Doesn't seem like much but my car had 70K on the clock and it was a 10 year old car plus i paid less for it when i bought her
