who out there would sell there version 6 sti for that amount??

i had some **** key my car on new years eve, and had a vvvv small bump, in 1st gear moving traffic at a round about the other week. so havent had a good start to 2009 at all

 

and what should be a normal insurance claim, has turned into hell, and i have lots it, so thats why im posting this now!!

 

that takes the ****, jealouse bastads thathave no respect for other peoples pride and joy!

suppose th ecurrent climate is what is making your insurance claim a nightmare..

They get away with it with many people: dont be one of them. If you want it mending then get it mended.

 

This car is a minter in my eyes must be double that or not far away....

Provide proof, its easy just send adverts and cuttings of similar cars, age milage etc etc.

I had to do it when i was crashed into.

 

When mine was stolen I was first offered a hidiously low amount. I was advised by a friend who works in insurance to look through autotrader.co.uk and find all cars of the same spec. Then present the info to the insurers. They paid, no messing around, the exact amount I insured the car for.

 

Had the same problem myself car was only valued at book price about 4k.
Ive put 20k plus into it so stood to make a massive loss if anything happened to it.
Spoke to Keith Micheals and insured it for a nominated value of £30k with all mods declared so they will replace on like for like basis.
If car is stolen and not recovered then thats what they pay.
I pay a slight premium but its worth it for piece of mind
£800 fully comp i am 42 years old live in a good postcode have no points and 9 years no claims.

 

The other option would be to get an agreed value policy. I don't how much extra this would be. My mate used to have one for his Elise race car. It was a s1 Elise but had the Honda type r engine and some expensive suspension.

i just keep getting messed around by the insurance comp at the mo, on monday this week, they told me it was going to be repaired, and i was to weight for the garage to call, but now they say it is prob going to be written off, and the assor says its only worth £3500 from what he has seen on the net, and glassed guide!

they say phone back later and speak to ...., i phone back, and they have gone home etc etc am getting really fed up with it now

 

Insurer? Has the assessor seen the car? Is he familiar with Subarus and higher JDM models in particular? It wont be hard to undermine him which invalidates his opinion over value too.

 

A-plan, but i think the insurance people are called micheal douglas or something like that.


assor has seen the car, and he said he is waiting to hear back from the insurance about my mods (they are all declaired) and said i had a aftermarked spoiler on?? looks like a standard v6 sti one to me!

so really he hasnt got a clue, and giving me a value of a run down impreza instead

 

stand your ground and dont let them pusj you over mate, you would get more than 3.5k breaking it. they are having a laugh offering you that little, how much did you insure it for?

i have got the value of 10k on my insurance, but they said today that is what i value my car at, and they aid it says on my policy in small print etc they will go by market value

theres one in for sale section, same sort of spec etc, you need to find all the ammo you can, there are imported wrx sti's on pistonheads for 6-7k nowhere near as good or specced up as yours, give the links/adverts to your insurance company and tell them to get stuffed. they will always offer bottom book price first. try having a word with moley and ask his thoughts on the best way to go about it, im sure he would be happy to give a bit of advice.

 

i have printed off a few pages from piston heads/autotrader etc of cars like mine for around 7.5k+

and i feel the stuff they are saying most of the time is passing the buck, or telling porkies

 

might sound daft but could you use ebay and look for completed listings of scoobs like yours that have sold? that would show them evidence of prices people are paying for them, i think an argument they'd use about showing adverts off autotrader etc is that people can put any value they want on an advert, but completed listings will show what some of them have changed hands for?

 

i feel for you mate, i wouldnt have a clue what to do if i was in your position am **** at this stuff but some good advice here, speak to moleyt and see what he says, hes always happy to help

 

my friend craig has a cashmere yellow sti version 6, im sure he was wanting about £7000 for his. can put you in touch easily enough if you want?

 

dont think you can see finished listings on ebay, i think i need some garages to write me a quick letter saying what they think the car is worth, to get proof of the value of it.

well i checked the completed listings and the only V6's seemed to have been put up at the 6.5/7K mark and they didn't sell, there were V3's that sold for 3.5 ish so yours should be more than that but i suspect it won't be as much as you want

 

i know of a few version 5 sti that sold for 6.5/7k, and i would say mine is in in better condition/spec than theres
