I have seen a few that look ok but allways in nasty colours or coverd in logos so i was wandering if anyone new just a rough price for a respray on a car this is just so i have a rough guide as i never had to get it done before. Also any genral advise for buying would be great. Thank you

Probably more than your going to spend buying the car, Espeicially for a full colour change where you need engine out etc. The pretend rally stickers will probably come off with a hairdryer.

i agree £2000 for a good one but £500 /£600 local garage lots of bits in .there are paints that are dear and good and paints that are cheap and nasty alot of people dont acctually realise what a top respray consists of .i have seen both ends of the spectrum if you cannot afford a good one dont do it ... and as said before as prices are now your car is probably worth less than the respray.....so dont think it as a selling point .....you wont get your money back ... on the other hand if you can afford it a good one go for it a nice new shiney impreza

The price can vary with the type of paint used too. Anything other than a flat colour like WR blue etc will cost more, i.e. my Mica Black

Whay not just buy a turbo in the right colour? plenty going cheap at the minute - the money you would save on respraying it (£2k or so for a decent job) could be put towards insurance if you're a young driver.

Hi thanks for the help sorry I have not been replying i have no idea how to find old threads and the only comp i had this on my faves is work. I baught a nice blue sport (2000) its the darker blue so all good there paid only £1100 for it bargin but has done some miles hence the price and some idiot put a black turbo bonnet on it. I wont bother worrying now about spraying it as i will probably just try and sly a new bonnet from the scrappy. Mind you though they put the bonnet on they have done ome nice touches aswell upgraded suspension and sti seats
