Default just been outdragged....

by a Corsa!!!
...casme around a roundabout on a dual carriageway, botted it in 2nd up the road, looked in mirror: Corsa
...summat not right I thought
continue in 3rd looke din mirror: Corsa
backed off and he tucked in
turned onto motorway and booted it in 2nd again
as above until I changed up into 4th at WOT

at which stage the plain grey corsa sped past!!!!!

my scoob recorded 300bhp at las dyno - and I think its slightly more now after better mapping and xhaust change

could be a corsa with a calibra turbo engine in or a 2.0 16v red top engine

both engines good for 250 bhp with the right bits on

Most likely a 2l turbo. All that power in a car that weighs less than a *** packet and only has 2wd power loss. The outcome would always be the same

Cheers

Need to be carefull of these little wolfs in sheeps clothing. Would love to know what he had tucked away, poss 205 GTi with tricks under the hood if its a sleeper. But thats me thinking old corsa, what year was it, and to note the new VXR and produce 225ish bhp. So power to weight??????
Us in our Classics, at the time were the ones to have, today lots of fast hatch drivers out there after Impreza blood.
We still are the better looking one

Through in a few bends and a damp road and it would be goodbye Corsa - those things are only quick in a straight line.

I used to own a 1.8 SRi Corsa, traction absolutely crap in the wet and not that good at going round corners even with only 126BHP.

Fairplay to the corsa kid. He's obviously spent the pennies on it and brought it up to spec.

Not a big corsa fan but you have to hand it to em when they make em quick.

*insert "twisties" joke here...

Seriously though, 300 brake is a respectable ammount in your car. I'd be quite proud of that. These little Vauxhalls with 2 litre lumps are great fun (I had a drive of my mates 2ltr Nova a few years back... Crazy little car!). Not alot around you to keep you safe, though....

Doesn't surprise me!! My Cooper S was pumping out over 260bhp - it was very quick & had the handling too.

A fellow Mini enthusiast had a turbo conversion - was punting out 391bhp and 390 lb/ft - the magazine that test drove it said it handled & delivered power better than any Scooby or Evo he had driven

Although did spend well over £18k to get that power!!

The engine you're talking about is the C20LET which comes from the Calibra (or Cavalier) Turbo.

They can be good for over 300bhp with the right work done to them, and a relaxed attitude to replacing gearboxes / clutches

My Cally Turbo only had middling mods done to it and it saw just shy of 280bhp with just over 280 ft/lbs. Knowing how many turbo lumps got taken from car being broken was the main reason I NEVER took the bait from a Nova. You'd guarantee to meet the nutter with a turbo lump hidden in there.
