I know the magnex centre come with and without a resonator. What is the noise difference ? I have a magnex BB and a standard dp.

with or with that'll be with then

There isn't alot in it at all mate, the resonator is marginally quieter and dulls the bark a little. Some say it also restricts the performance due to the resonator box but not by much. Thing is the non resonator on is 57 quid while the resonator one is 112 or so.....

Had the same system and didn't find it too loud w/o the resonator - now put on a SS BB and its loud I'd go without

Yep gotta agree can't tell between the 2 really . I have the resonated version. Maybe slightly quiter than the straight through...

Big difference is the Saloon vs Wagon ( Hear Scotts its much louder)

I have the non resonated one with scorpion down pipe and magnex rear backbox. I find it a bit painful on the ear on long journeys.

Does anyone recommend acoustic sound proofing in the boot area or taping the down pipe and mid-section with heat tape?

Please let me know.

Chris

Dave - I run a SS BB and Magnex centre with resonator and std downpipe, it's quite loud and deep, but then I have a wagon so I have a big echo box in the back. Put it this way, parked close to the front door after a run, the car can rattle ornaments in the living room.

I am wondering about swapping for a Scoobysport centre as I'd like a little more noise...

Simon.

My neighbour that doesn't like noise has moved out so I can get the Scoobysport sometime when I get round to it

Simon (Dave - baby not quite come yet, any time now though!).

I've currently got a magnex dp, magnex centre (with out res.) and scoobysport backbox. I went with the straight thru' centre cos its half the price of the other and i like noise . Sayin' that i wouldn't say that my set up is that loud, until you plant your right foot .

Tony.
