Default cheap fuel in mapped car???

Hi all,
Basically i have a remapped car by andy.f and i am planning a trip to the isle of mull. Problems being that i dont think they have any "branded" fuel on the island and i'm pretty sure that i'm gonna use more than a tank full.

Have thought about a hire car but part of the holiday is the drive up there so do you think it would be ok to put it on the lower boost setting and use the "tatty watter" that they have up there?

many thanks
Rick

Just drive the car under boost and don't be tempted to put your foot down. Obviously it's not good to be running crappy fuel however this odd ocassion wont harm your car as long as you are sensible.

Find out where the last decent fuel is before Mull and brim your tank.

When you are on Mull, fill up with local fuel when your tank is half empty so you've still got a reasonable mix.

After that, only put enough "Mull fuel" in to get you back to the place where you filled up on the way there.

Thanks for all (most) of the replies, i did email a garage on the mull (gleaner fuels) who have said that although they dont sell SUL they do sell 95 octane fuel and that it is shell fuel which is good news.

Now then should i get a bung for the afterburner so that i dont frighten all the wildlife?

Which way are you going to Mull via Oban or Lochaline ?

If your going Oban way there is 97 ron there and a shop called B&H autospares on the main street that sells octane boster.

If its via Lochaline way there is 2 petrol stations in Fort William with 97 ron and again B&H autospares just off the main road in Claggan that sell octane boster. If you get stuck in my neck of the woods give me shout if you get into a bit of bother

Had a nice quick email from andy who said that as long as i dont going driving silly then the lower boost setting and the 95 ron will be fine, so thats good news.

Just mulling over whether to get a bung for the exhaust. Any known negatives as to the short term fitment of one of these (6 days and approx 400 miles of driving)

Many Thanks
Rick

On the bung side, what exhaust are you running ?

The police up here are very understanding and are usually sound. If you dont act the prat, they leave you alone. Most of the coppers I know have high performance cars with all the mods aswell and car nuts on top of it.
The last time I got stopped, was just to look at the car, as he just bought a scooby aswell.
