I live in Bradford- a tragic loss I'm sure to upstanding members of the community clearly just traveling at 30 mph up to something dead innocent at 4.30 am.

in the last 2 weeks there has been about 3 road deaths here in similar circs.

about 8 weeks ago, 3 dead in one car crash- 3.30 am- when a micra was racing a civic in the city centre.

how come in 20 odd years my car has never burst into a ball of flames or I never managed to kill anyone by driving in a normal fashion

cue- giant pile dead flowers at the side of the road for months to come.

I couldn't help but notice the rather prophetic name of the road where the accident happened . . . Killinghall.

That's spooky.

All in bad taste - and burnt chip fat is a very bad taste indeed!

If they were in a blobeye, shouldn't they have gone to a Chinese?

"So that will be four fried twockers with chips then!"

"Harry, you were only supposed to take away the bleedin' car!"

And, yes, I know, someone on here probably knows them and won't like it, but, hey, these are only the jokes the fire and police men were cracking at 5 am this morning!

The car hit the gas main on the corner of the building, hence the explosion / fire.

4 less scummers roaming our streets.

Feel sorry for the shop owner and the decent people who have to clean this mess up.

i would normally share sympathies, but as there was a police rolling road block in the area, and you dont destroy a fish and chip shop by nudging it at 30mph, i'd say there was a bit more to this story than "accident"

it is indeed a waste of life, but what were they doing to cause such a horrific crash?

If you're in a stolen car being chased by police, then I think you're the author of your own downfall should anything go wrong and you didn't stop in the first place.

Sad to say, but I feel zero sympathy with those killed, only sympathy for the shop owner, owner of the car and the families of the deceased (if they were unaware of their criminal activities).

Sorry mate but I don't think the punishment for stealing a car should be death.

Its wrong yes and they could have endangered or injured/killed others but then that would be a seperate crime being committed - in extremes I would say some cases deserve death.

Just stealing a car doesn't

They clipped the corner of the shop where the gas supply for the friers was located, the subsequent gas leak and ignition would've killed them. In fact reports are of screaming coming from inside the car which was alight.

Steal my car........ I won't wish you dead, caught and sent to prison yes, dead no...

There is a very important difference between thinking that stealing a car merits a death sentence and not being able to feel much sympathy if, by virtue of their criminal and reckless actions, the perpetrators end up killing themselves.

I think most people are arguing in favour of the latter and adopting an attitude of: if you live by the sword, you risk dying by it.

Just fortunate that no innocents were hurt/killed.
