"From my knowledge the car has a bigger turbo"???

"producing about 285 bhp"???

So an Sti with a bigger turbo is producing 285 bhp? About standard Sti power. How is it producing this? Has it been mapped? Chipped? Just bolted on and left unmapped? Who by?

These are all questions that I'd ask him until he actually admitted he knew nothing. He is the first proper owner the car has had in the UK, and he doesnt know exactly what's been done?

I spose he's used some logic

It's NOT a STi with a "Red Top" engine

It is a WRX and has a black engine

so must be a WRX "Black Top" engine

Why didn't you post this in the for sale section?
It's not hard is it? And didn't you just sell your black sti?

Fair enough if the seller doesnt have the vast knowledge shared by this community but if this is the case why not just do a simple description on his advert instead of trying to spruce it up with bullsh1t.

stistussy suspect someone may infract you for that

"121,000 KM WHICH IS AROUND 74,000 MILES, THE MILEGE IS STILL IN KMH BUT THE SPEEDO HAS BEIN CONVERTED TO MPH." - How convenient

My MY97 WRX Has a TD04 so don't know why He thinks the *sti* has a bigger turbo fitted.

I emailed the seller with some helpful/constructive advice pointing out the obvious WRX features and linking him to the model code site.

He came back with this : "Thanks for your advice, but checking my engine code which is EJ20K, is classed as a 97 STI Version 3 from the website you have given."

A little unfair, I think. Yes, the general description in the advert is vaigue and a little misleading, but there's plenty of us out here who have converted the speedo from km/h to MPH and it does leave the tacho in kilometers..... Any further distance is adde to the car's tach in miles, on top of the kms already registered....

It would be nice to know how to get the tacho to display miles ( I documented when the change was made), but I guess if we all knew how to do that there would be alot of 20k mile classics on the market.....

So does your engine have a black inlet manifold then?
What's the differance between yours and a redtop STI?
