passed my car test first time, bike test 2nd time.

Ive found that having a bike licence makes me a better driver (IMO) as I now tend to see more of whats going on round about me when im driving than I did before.

Passed first time after 2 lessons. Doesn't mean I'm a good driver tho. THis was in the days when you had to do little more than get it moving and avoid the other traffic LOL

Learn't a lot more from a severely broken left arm on my m/bike (2 plates) aged 17 and 2 written off cars aged 18 and 19. All entirely my fault, youthful overexuberance and a firm belief that I was an indestructable driving god (read ***). Thankfully no one else involved on any occasion. Noticeably fewer and milder problems as I got older apart from some incidents with other people going through the same school of hard knocks I did. One was a learner on his putput, ran up my backside when I was stationary waiting for traffic. His mate and I laughed as he tried to blame me........

No probs for a while now, just hope my luck holds as have noticed a definite drop in driving standards over the last decade. Probably down to fewer police on the roads due to an over reliance on speed cameras.

Passed first time. Rolled my first car 3 weeks later. 6 months after that rear ended a Mazda 323 at a roundabout. Another 6 months later rear ended an Astra at a roundabout. Since learning the hard (and expensive) way had 15 years of trouble free motoring.

Passed on first try, only had 2 lessons but my old man took me out driving every chance he could. Also made me do a lot of night driving and how to learn to drive in poor weather conditions.
He also drummed into me to do a weekly check over the car for general wear and tear, and check over the fluids in the car.

Same as.Car 1st time,bike 2nd.

Totally agree that being a biker makes you more aware of other road-users (idiots) around you.I think that all car drivers should be made to hold/use a bike licence for at least 2 years (learner) then there may be less accidents, more traffic awareness

4th!!

Not as bad as it sounds though.

First time, a lorry pulled out in front of me and the examiner reacted at the same time as me. I got a "Nothing wrong with your driving but i used the emergency brake so you've failed" the muppet.

2nd time i failed for "not looking over shoulder when exiting a roundabout". I pointed out the car was fitted with a perfectly servicable mirror on the pasenger side of vehicle. He countered with "ah but what if it wasn't?" to which i replied 2it i so that doesn't matter and i checked it every time." trouble is i couldn't beat "well i like people to look over their shoulder too so you've failed"

Last one was same guy again and he took me down a tiny back street with double parked cars all along it. Just wide enough for the car. At the end some nugget had parke opposite the junction so getting round was well tight. About half way throguh, just as i'm straightening up he stops the car, sticks his head out and says "you are miles away, carry on!"

Same result as first time, 3 minor faults and a fail because "i used the brake". Seriously tore a strip off the gimp and he almost rocketed out of the car.

Went and did it again in another town where i didn't know the roads and passed with two minor faults.

Passed bike test first time too.

5t.
