Default Spot the mobile speed camera

Went past this today doing about 40 in 30, never seen it until i was on top off it. I thought they had to be visible from a certain distance, this one was hidden under the bridge in the dark. Went back to take this picture. Anyone out there know the law on speed camera's.

Stuart.

Very Crafty

What there suppose to do Is put a Warning that there is a mobile speed unit in operation. They are usually on a sort of warning triangle about a 3/4 of a mile away where most drivers don't pay attention to them.

They don't have to be visible from a certain distance. Photo is dark...is it underneath the bridge to the left of the road?

If there is a sign anywhere along the length of that road warning that speed cameras are in use then they can do what they like

Can you imagine how the Local Rag interview went with the Police PR , maybe along these lines

Reporter asks-: "So that Van is in an accident blackspot???"

Police PR replies -: "Yes Sir, 15 accident in the past year .....................we have rules!! "

Reporter states -: "Gosh 15 serious car accidents!! all resulting from excessive Speed. I can understand the need for a Camera there "

Police PR- replies: "Well...... actually it was 8 lorries and 7 Buses stuck under the bridge. So it's still an accident blackspot"

IMHO IIRC

Parked next to a railway bridge so probably on the private property of National Rail or whatever there called today.

Turn up with a sign saying £300 removal and clamp it!

There's probably a big sign that says 30 not too far away. That might be a big clue as to the speed limit!!!

This is why the roadangel with lazer detector is an invaulable piece of kit. If you haven't got one go get one

If it's a Police one, they can do what they like (ish). Though it might be a tad embarrassing for them if there is a private owner of that verge and they get a complaint.

If it's not police but operated by a civilian then it's interesting. How did they get to the grass verge in the first place? I see no dropped kerb, hence they drove up onto the pavement first.

Think you will find it is not as invaulable as you think it is ??!! am sure someone will be along soon to explain why not to rely on the laser attachment off it !!

These are a tad pricey but do the job, i have a pair of the previous model and would not be without them

the road angel only alerts you when the laser is actually 'targeting' you, by the time you hit the brakes, your speed has already been recorded. if you see the mobile camera and your angel hasn't reacted then you have not been 'targeted'.
