On our other forum I frequent, there is a Garage section whereby members can list all their cars, the mods and costs. All very useful, but one of the section tots up the costs and lists it in a top 5 style.
It is not very nice reading

260 to renew all discs,pads and MOT
didn't buy it to spend money on it !!!!!
not counting ins or road tax

ive kept every single reciept. even fuel reciepts. i will add it all up when i finish the car in the next couple months. not much left now.

guys just work out the fuel bill if you wanna be depressed, i spend on average 300 quid a month on fuel, sometimes more if i do some traveling
