Hi, I've just got my Mica Black classic resprayed

and I really want to get the no.2 look in your 'dark metallics' thread, but Raceglaze 55 is a bit pricey for me.

Can you tell me if I would get a similar look with RG 42? I'd fancied the Black Hole anyway, but wax wise I was also considering Purple Haze or Blue Velvet, both Dodo I think. Your thoughts would be appreciated.

You'd get a very similar look, but less overall durability (say 2-3 months as opposed to 3-4). However, on black mica finishes, I'd actually suggest you look at Blackfire Midnight Sun instead, as it will give you all the wetness of pure waxes plus much better flake pop. See this thread for a recent set of piccies of this wax on a black metallic S5...

Thanks for that, I'll be placing an order tomorrow. Lots of lovely goodies on your site, let's just say I'll be qualifying for a 10% discount!! Just discovered DW and a whole new way to empty my wallet!
