These threads talk about main bearing failure and then go on to talk about which oils are best for our motors.

The shortcut is, either Motul 300V 15W/50 or Castrol RS 10W/60 or Mobil 1, but make sure it's the 15W/50 rating. Do not use a 0W based oil. Too thin for scoob engine.

Also make sure you use a genuine Subaru oil filter. Fill the filter up and put some oil on the lip of the filter with your finger before fitting it to the engine.

Go for the Motul from Demon Tweaks to save you a read..... best according to the Maestro Mr Rawle

 

15/50 grade just to make sure - it's very thick!

 

Anyone got any thoughts or comments on Redline Oil. I notice they do 10W40, 10W50 & 20W50 oils - suspecting the 15W50 oil would be the choice for a scooby.
